Having been in Christian music ministry all her life, this effervescent singer and performer has been part of a singing family trio since her birth when her first musical rendition at 14 months was not the usual nursery rhyme as one would expect, but “Aden (Amen) ” from the Sydney Poitier movie “Lilies of the Field “.

Koren comes from a family of singers– her grandparents were regular members of the choir all their lives. On her mother’s side, her great grandmother was a Doctor of Music while her grandfather sang in a band. On her father’s side she is directly connected to the famous Beale piano family!

Her Aunt Avril (who died in 1995), was an extremely well-known and much loved member of the music group Eastern Charms who sang all over the western suburbs of Sydney but called St Benedict’s Parish at Smithfield, her home parish.

Koren’s mother Emlyn and father John, are well known in many parishes, but call Our Lady of Victories Horsley Park home.

Koren received an award in 1999 from The Holroyd City Council for her musical services to the community. She comes from a background rich in liturgical music and her CDs are the result of innumerable requests to sing hymns and to produce something simple, pure and peaceful for meditation and easy listening for her many church fans.
Koren has sung on other artists albums as a session vocalist and edited end of year concert music for dancing schools. She continues to sing for weddings and funerals with Eastern Charms, and loves every minute of it!

A talented and versatile singer, Koren sings with simplicity and sincerity and is blessed with a pure, clear voice which calms the soul.
